FACEBOOK IS EVIL!

All About Evil

Okay I just can’t get the damn thing to work. Maybe evil is a bit strong.. Maybe it’s just semi-malevolent, rather than outright pits of hell. However, trying to link my profiles simultaneously whilst building a bloody platform as a writer is horrible! Can’t we just go back to the days, where I was afraid to write because of the rejection slips… Damn you – Self-Publishing!

  1. I’m also struggling with Facebook at the moment. Having discovered that one can’t auto-post from ones wordpress blog to a stand-alone Facebook fan page (I don’t have a profile on FB) I’m now having to do it manually. It appears I can also not comment on anyone else’s page without my userpic vanishing and the link to my own page going A.W.O.L. Like you, I am not a happy bunny when it comes to Facebook!

    • I am really struggling. I managed to create a page. Great! But I can’t link it to Twitter and I can’t get WP to kink either… I have a facebook profile but it’s private, for family and friends. I don’t want their feeds being accessed by people I don’t know… It is so frustrating! I’m thinking about setting up a fake profile. See if this works?

    • Hi Val, Just to let you know I figured out how to get it to work. You need to create a dummy profile. I created Firstname Iwant Secondname Towriteit as a profile with a free email address (must be unique). I then re-linked everything through to an author page that I created with that profile. It all now works! Hurrah.

  2. I agree with you. When I first starting writing seriously in high school, there was no such thing as Facebook and self publishing, I didn’t have to worry about all these different sites that just piss me off.

What do you think?
